Tasting: Santa Luz Sauvignon Blanc

Name - Santa Luz Sauvignon Blanc
Variety - Sauvignon Blanc
Region - Valle Central
Country - Chile
Year - 2013
Price - Regular Price = $11; however it was on sale at the Vintage Cellar for $6.95.

Wine Review - Like any good Sauvignon Blanc, this opens with oceanic aromas of citrus fruits, sea form and minerality.  In the mouth, it is juicy and stony, with washing acidity.  Flavors of honeydew, lime and a nice grassiness finish firm, with good backbone.

Personal Review - This wine really perplexed me as to what I was tasting. It was very interesting, but I enjoyed it overall.  The citrus taste gave it a sweeter initial taste, which then was balanced with a taste of saline.  I have never tried a wine that put together such contrasting flavors from start to finish.  I would have this wine again.

Food - I did not try this wine with food; however it was recommended to drink this with salads, shellfish and ceviche.
