Tasting: Oliver Hill Red Silk Shiraz
Name - Oliver Hill Red Silk Shiraz
Variety - Shiraz
Region - McLaren Vale
Country - Australia
Year - 2012
Price - $19.95
Wine Review - It is a full-bodied wine packed with concentrated blackberry preserve and menthol flavors. It has a good backbone of medium to firm rounded tannins. It was rated 91 points by Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate.
Personal Review - This was the first Shiraz wine that I have ever tasted. It was luscious, spicy and very dark in color. The color made it look rich, and you could physically see the tannins swimming in the wine. The smell was not as pungent, but it was a very good tasting wine. The blackberries definitely stood out, and I found it to be my favorite wine of the tasting!
Food - There was not food available at this tasting.
