Tasting: Riebeek Chenin Blanc

Name - Riebeek Chenin Blanc
Variety - Chenin Blanc
Region - Swartland
Country - South Africa
Year - 2014
Price - Regular Price = $10; however it was on sale at the Vintage Cellar for $6.95.

Wine Review - Fresh kiwifruit, green apple and almond notes bounce along, showing a flash of plaintain on the friendly finish.

Personal Review - This wine smelled very fresh and tropical.  I could immediately taste a more tropical type of fruits, but not in the sweet sense.  To me a sour taste took over and continued into the after-taste.  I found the wine to be acidic, but not-overpoweringly so.  The flavor that stood out most to be was the sour fruits, possibly some sort of mild berry or an apple flavoring.

Food - I did not try this wine with food.
