Tasting: Resonata Nero D'avola
Name - Resonata Nero D'avola
Variety - Nero D'avola
Region - Sicily
Country - Italy
Year - 2013
Price - It is normally $14, but it was on sale at the Vintage Cellar for $6.95.
Wine Review - This wine is a dense ruby red color with violet reflections. It has a lush and ripe bouquet full of mulberries, blackberries and spice. It is harmonious and well balanced with good berry fruit in a spicy background.
Personal Review - This Nero D'avola was very dry and buttery. I could taste the blackberries over the other flavors. It was a little dry, and I did not like it. I think this was because I tasted it after trying the Canyon Red Pinot Noir (which I loved and ending up buying after the tasting had concluded). This was my least favorite wine at the tasting.
Food - I did not try this wine with food.
