Tasting: Protocolo White Blend

Name - Protocolo White
Variety - Blend: 50% Airen and 50% Macabeo
Region - La Mancha
Country - Spain
Year - 2013
Price - $6.95.

Wine Review - This wine is pale yellow with high-pitched aromas of lemon zest and white flowers, with a piquant mineral overtone.  Dry, racy and focused, it offers tangy lemon zest and green apple flavors and a touch of bitter herbs.  It closes with good clarity and cut, leaving a tart citrus fruit note behind.  This is pretty grown-up for the price, not to mention a superb value.

Personal Review - I liked this wine a lot.  It was a good mix of fruit with a little sourness, but not super tart.  The flavor that stood out the most was the fruit flavoring in the after-taste, which tasted like peach to me.  I would definitely have it again.

Food - I did not try this wine with food.
