Tasting: Pirovana Sangiovese Romagna

Name - Pirovana Sangiovese Romagna
Variety - Sangiovese
Region - Abruzzo
Country - Italy
Year - 2012
Price - $7.95.

Wine Review - Aromas of bright berry fruit and violets merge with zesty spice and intense juicy flavors of ripe raspberry, plum and black cherry in this medium-bodied, food-friendly wine.  Pairs perfectly with a variety of foods such as spicy pastas, red meats and poultry, as well as aged cheeses.

Personal Review - The wine's color was dark, and it smelled like raspberries.  You could also taste the berries in the wine's as well.  It was very dry in the after-taste, but not bitter.  I enjoyed this wine, and I would definitely have it again if paired with some of the recommended foods.

Food - I did not try this wine with food; however the Vintage Cellar recommends that it be paired with spicy pastas, red meats, poultry and aged cheeses.
